PhotoOur elegant new neighborhood is planned to be like the special historic neighborhoods of cities in the Mississippi River region of the upper Midwest. Like those historic places we admire, our neighborhood is a walkable place with a mixture of home types and historic styles within a 5 minute or so walk of places to shop, work, and recreate.

The Peninsula Neighborhood is made of a network of streets, narrower than most new suburban streets, lined with sidewalks and street trees. Narrower streets slow automobiles down and are easier to walk across. Sidewalks and street trees provide walkers with a safe, sheltered and beautiful path away from automobile traffic.

At the ends of many of streets are significant views or interesting buildings providing a sense of anticipation and stimulation while one walks through the neighborhood.

These design qualities make walking in the neighborhood an enjoyable experience and a less expensive alternative to driving.

PhotoEmma Harvat Square forms the heart of the neighborhood. The square will be a neighborhood meeting place, sometimes a quiet contemplative space, and sometimes filled with activity.

The streets are lined with elegant homes, most with front porches in traditional Mid-western regional architectural design. Front porches provide a sheltered place to sit and enjoy the sunset, enjoy a cool summer drink and provide the opportunity to meet neighbors. Some of the streets in the neighborhood will have the park or river on one side with homes looking across the street to the river on the other. This configuration of streets and homes provide access to the river views for everyone in the neighborhood and not just the residents who purchase homes overlooking those views.

PhotoThe Peninsula Neighborhood will have a mix of home types unified by a similar historic design. Townhouses, single family homes, condominium flats, and flex homes (live over the store/office) when thoughtfully designed, create a rich visual environment while providing elegant places to live for people with a variety of household sizes and lifestyles.
